We are Mel and Luis, the owners of Cappy & Luca’s here in Irwin.

We want to be clear — we are new here. We purchased this location just 10 months ago, and this is the very beginning of our journey. Everything you’re seeing now is the result of us starting fresh and building something of our own. Cappy & Luca’s is our vision, our work, and our start here in Irwin.

Between the two of us, we bring over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry. For me (Mel), Irwin has always been home — my roots run deep here, and it means so much to be able to create something in this community. Luis, who’s from Plum, fell in love with Irwin when we started dating and now shares that same excitement for being part of this town.

We’re truly grateful to be part of this community — its residents, and alongside the many wonderful local businesses that make Irwin what it is.

This restaurant is very personal to us. It reflects where we come from, the people who raised us, and the kind of place we’re working hard to build every single day.

We’re still growing and evolving, but we’re proud of how far we’ve come in just 10 months — and we’re just getting started.
